Sabotage Shuffle is a card game created within a 3 person team with a 4 week constraint. The game features simultaneous action, a social deduction element, and hidden agendas/betrayal. The game proceeds in rounds where machine breakdowns and tasks are uncovered, all players then enter into an action phase where they must resolve tasks and attempt to repair a space station. During this same time, saboteurs are trying to foil the repair process - either through repairing the incorrect things in each room or attempting to murder the players participating in repair of that room.
I designed the game and lead playtesting and feedback process. My two teammates did all art and physical printing of the cards and play board. To facilitate my game creation I utilized a Google/Figma sync tool to rapidly prototype for card creation. Below are details to show the process of printing and fabricating the cards and map. An additional constraint was to develop an algorithm for game balancing and card strength, and all calculations are included in the design documentation below as well.
Map design for the game - all cards correlate to a colored room on the map, and the central area is the pile for cards. The top and bottom storage / trash rooms serve as a discard pile.
3D Map design for the game - was designed to be modular and allow for map parts to slot in for potential future expansions and maps. Expansion design shown here and below.
